I’ve been wanting a grandfather clock for a long time now. It seems that every home that I’ve ever been in that I felt comfortable in always had a grandfather clock in the living room. There simply seems to be a feeling of warmth and comfort that I associate with the grandfather clocks.
My mother has a very handsome grandfather clock in her living room. It is standing in a corner, lonely and unused. It has been there for about the past eight years now, a silent sentinel, standing watch over the room.
I have told her how sad it makes me feel that this gorgeous clock is not being used. She told me that they stopped using it because the ticking sound “bothered her.” I have always found the ticking sound of a clock to be a comfort, so I asked her if I could have the clock for MY living room. She said she would check with her hubby and get back to me.
I’ve been looking at the grandfather clocks on the website http://www.1-800-4clocks.com/ from time to time ever since I saw that website featured on The Today Show. I especially like the Howard Miller Grandfather clocks that they have. I’ve been reading with interest a blog about taking care of clocks.
