My son is considering taking an internship this summer in New York City. Of course, being his mother, I’d rather he take an internship closer to home. I miss him when he is away at college in New Jersey, and I would love it if he would take an internship that would allow me to see him frequently. But chances are that he will NOT take a local internship.
If he does take the New York internship, he will need to find an apartment near where his internship will be. I’ve heard from a lot of people over the years how difficult it can be to find an affordable and decent apartment that is bigger than a matchbox in New York. Apparently there are a lot of apartment brokers that help people find apartments in New York, but they often charge exorbitant brokers fees for that service!
A friend of mine told me about an apartment finding service called Innovative Apartments. Innovative Apartments is a company that helps their clients find apartments in New York without charging a broker’s fee! Innovative Apartments has a website at www.inapts.com that lists a lot of the apartments that they have available for rent. I’ll be telling my son to check out the Innovative Apartments website and see what he thinks!
