When we bought my Lumina I told my hubby that one of the first things I wanted to buy for it was a quality sun shield for the windshield.  I bought a “universal” sun shield at my local big box discount department store but it does not fit well and keeps falling down.  One of my co-workers told me website at www.lanescarproducts.com that sells custom made sun shields for cars.  Lanes Professional Car Products sells a large variety of car care products.  I saw that it sells custom fit sun shields for my make and model of car so I am going to order one!

About five months after we moved here we decided it was appropriate to buy a “new to me” used car.  I had been driving a 1998 Subaru Outback Sport which is fine for one or two people, but it was our only car and we were using it to transport four adults, so it was cramped.  We searched for a a couple of weeks for the “perfect” car and settled on a low mileage Chevrolet Lumina.  It is comfortable enough for five adults and seems to get better gas mileage than the Subaru.  I like it a lot because the ride is soft and smooth and gives me the feel of driving an expensive luxury car.

I have not been particularly impressed with my Verizon cell phones since we got them when we moved here almost two years ago.  Our contract with them is going to be expiring soon and I plan to change to a different cellphone company.  I just haven’t quite decided which one! A lot of my co-workers have been telling me that I should check out AT&T cell phone deals but I’m not sure what kind of coverage they have in the area around my house.  If it is at all possible, I’d like to get a plan that includes free cell phones for the entire family.  My sister told me about a website, www.bestincellphones.com to check out.  She said that it compares cell phone plans from all of the major cell phone companies and helps you decide what the best deal is; and then you can order the cell phone plan from that website.  She said that she used it to order her plan and she got a free cell phone when she ordered from them.

I’ve been noticing a lot of flowers on vines the past couple of weeks, and just looked them up on google - they are wisteria flowers.  Very pretty!  I can’t remember ever seeing wisterias bloom in real life.  Being relatively new to the area, I’m not familiar with all of the flowers that bloom here.  I can tell you that I never saw wisterias in bloom like this in Maine!

I was just reading an article about High Sea Sugar.  I did not know that such a practice existed!  Essentially it is what happens when a company that is exporting sugar leaves port without having a buyer already lined up.  After it leaves port a buyer is found for the sugar.  Doing this lowers the cost of the sugar to the buyer because the buyer can then buy the sugar without having to pay a local sales tax.  This helps keep the costs down for the consumer.  I didn’t know this practice existed, but it makes perfect sense to me!
