The dreaded Black Friday

Just got back from the mall and what was probably one of the wildest shopping days I have ever had. So many people were at the mall and Wal-Mart we had to park almost a half mile away at both places. The checkout lines were so long I got to read one of the magazine on the rack all the way through.

Next year I am waiting till Saturday to do my shopping, because going to stores when there are so many people just plain sucks. I’m all for saving money and having fun shopping, but this was not fun to me.  and when I got home I heard on the news about the terrible incident at the Wal-Mart in New York where the shoppers stormed the doors and trampled an employee to death!  How scary!  I’m staying home next year for sure!

Gas prices continue to increase

It’s getting to the point where I can’t afford to drive anywhere anymore except to the bare necissities!  I even make my entire family carpool for errands, whether they want to or not.  The gas prices just keep going up!  I think they’ll come down eventually, but I hope that they come down quickly enough and low enough to help the consumers that are struggling so hard.  If they down come down soon, I think there will be a really poor Christmas season for the retailers!

I hope you voted

I hope you voted today!  I did!  I waited until shortly before noon and went in to vote then.  I was thinking that would probably be a good “slow” time, when the lines would be short and I guess correctly!  I didn’t have to wait for more than about five minutes to get to the lady who was asking for names and identification.  The line moved quickly and efficiently, and I was on my way out the door quickly!  I had watched the news earlier in the morning and was quite concerned to see how long the lines were – I’m sure glad my timing was so good!
