Medicines worked

Thank goodness the antibiotics did their job and my sinus infection has cleared up.  Unfortunately my hubby has come down with it, so I have to take him to the doctor to get him some antibiotics too!  This is the first time in three years that he has come down with a cold.  When he gets sick, he ends up so sick that he is usually sent to the Emergency Room because he gets dehydrated.  It’s hard to get him to drink enough fluids, he just hides in bed under the covers and complains he’s sick and won’t eat or drink.  So he ends up in the ER.  I told him this time I’m not going to put up with that and he’s going to the doctor NOW!

Undecorating the tree

I try hard to undecorate the Christmas Tree on January 1st whenever I can.  When I was a kid my parents told me that it’s supposed to bring good luck to you for the coming year if you do that.  Well, this year it just did not happen.  We got too busy with other things, and believe it or not I finally got around to taking the decorations off today.  I got started last weekend but then had to stop and tend to other things.  I hate it when life gets in the way, don’t you?

So, I finally got the last of the decorations off of the tree; now it’s up to hubby to remove the tree itself.  Another Christmas passed by, and Valentine’s Day is approaching!

Thankfully got the medicines I need

Well, the doctor finally saw me and gave me a prescription for Levaquin.  That’s the only antibiotic I’ve found that will clear up my sinus infections and NOT trouble my stomach.  So I am hoping to feel better by the end of the week.  If he had only been willing to give them to me sooner, I’d be better by now!  I’ve been Zicam and other cold remedies and they help me to feel a little bit better, but still not “well.”  I haven’t been getting much sleep because the cold remedies keep me awake – even the ones that are supposed to make you drowsy!  So I’m tired and cranky, thank you very much!  Looking forward to feeling better soon!

Caught another cold

I’m sorry to say that over the festivities of the Christmas holiday season, I was exposed to so many people with colds that I came down with one myself.  And of course it has progressed into a sinus infection.  My doctor doesn’t want me to have antibiotics “yet” because he doesn’t think they will be needed.  I don’t know what I have to do to convince these doctors down here that I will always get a sinus infection when I get a cold and always need antibiotics to clear it up.  To NOT give me a prescription quickly when I catch a cold dooms me to being six for at least a month, instead of only a week.  It is very annoying, to say the least!

Ringing in the New Year

Sorry to say that I did not stay up and ring in the New Year with festivities. I had to get to bed at a reasonable hour. But I did toast the New Year this morning with a fresh, piping hot cup of Starbucks, which is a great way to start any day and a great way to start the New Year, too.

So I hope this year will be a good one for me and for you. Stay safe, be kind, and laugh every day.

Happy New Year!
