Companian Arbor With Bridgehampton Swing

Getting my hands dirty has always been good therapy for me. I can’t wait for Spring to finally arrive so that I can get busy with all of the things that need to get done outside, and there are a lot of things that need tending to that will certainly get my hands dirty. I have always wanted a nice arbor in the yard so I have been looking around at some nice wooden arbors that are available online. Was I surprised at how many arbors there are out there these days and all of the different materials that are being used for today’s garden arbors.

What I wouldn’t give to be able to order one of these wonderful Companian Arbors with a Bridgehampton Swing. You would never see me inside the house at all if we had one of these babies out back. My grandparents had a swing simular to this that all of the grandchildren adored playing on every chance that they could when we went over for our visits with them. I wonder what happened to that wonderful swing.

A Garden Trellis For Mom

Speaking of Christmas gifts, I found some nice trellises online that I know my mother would enjoy receiving to use around their yard next spring. My parents take great pleasure in fixing up their place, inside and out, each spring, and she has been hinting that a nice trellis would be a welcomed addition to the place. So while a lot of folks were out early in the morning, shopping last Saturday, I slept in late and then spent some time on the Internet looking for gift ideas from home and that is when I stumbled on this garden trellis that I’m sure she will really enjoy the look of.

The house that we grew up in had a few trellises that my mother took great pride in back then. She always has had such a green thumb, the neighbors were always in awe of the place and a few even tried their hand with a trellis or two , but none even compared with ours and their attempts were short lived. So I think that my mother would appreciate this nice looking garden trellis as my gift to her from Trelliscenter.com.

The Trelliscenter.com accepts Pay Pal and offers free shipping on all of their window boxes. Two great reasons to shop with them wouldn’t you say?

Old and rusty

I think that one of the nicest ways a person can spruce up a house is by putting up a really nice mailbox.  When we first moved here, our mailbox was old and beat up and rusty.  It looked horrible!  I have been telling my hubby ever since we moved that I want a new mailbox, but I have not seen any that I like at the local stores.

Wisteria flowers

I’ve been noticing a lot of flowers on vines the past couple of weeks, and just looked them up on google – they are wisteria flowers.  Very pretty!  I can’t remember ever seeing wisterias bloom in real life.  Being relatively new to the area, I’m not familiar with all of the flowers that bloom here.  I can tell you that I never saw wisterias in bloom like this in Maine!

Hibiscus plants

Last summer my hubby bought some beautiful hibiscus plants and planted them in front of the house.  We thought they would survive the winter left outdoors, but they didn’t.  I just looked up how to care for hibiscus over the winter and discovered that we should have brought them into the house for the winter.  Oh well, now we know!
