Spirited discussions

For the past several weeks I’ve noticed that most of the Facebook discussions between my “friends” are spirited disagreements about politics. With almost an entire year to go before the election, I have to say that I’m already growing weary of all of the lies and mudslinging that is going on.  I find myself wondering if my friends will still be friends by the time the presidential election is over.

Best Top Credit Cards

Credit Cards seem to be in the news an awful lot lately. For a good while it seemed that you couldn’t turn on the television news without hearing a story about how the companies are changing their terms to the consumer now to increase their interest rates and fees so that they can beat the deadline the Congress has passed for the bill that is supposed to prevent them from doing what they are doing now. Personally I am outraged that these companies are putting the hurts on the consumer in this way. I know a lot of people who have decided to pay cash, and since they are limited on cash that means that they will be buying less this year.

I think that this is a good time to step back and compare top credit cards. See which ones are increasing their rates, and which ones are not. It should not be very difficult to determine which are the best credit cards for your needs. I think that this is the perfect time to send a message to the big companies that we don’t need them as much as they need us! If that means that we spend less money on Christmas gifts this year, then so be it! The kids don’t need a dozen gifts under the tree!

Cheap and Green Web Hosting

Taking a look around some websites concerning dedicated server hosting and stumbled onto an interesting listing of the Top Best 10 Cheap Web Hosting Services 2011. Since going “Green” is the way to go these days I was happy to see so many green web hosts out there. It seems to me that if a company is going to be dedicated enough to try and protect our environment that they would be dedicated to their customers as well. There is a lot to be said about dedication, since there seems to be such a lacking of it in this day and age.

My brother-in-law is looking at dedicated server hosting for his small business, so I thought that I would send him the link to these green listings and urge him to check them out and give them a chance since they are giving our Mother Earth a chance. We come from a family that is very aware of energy issues so I think that this list will go over real well and I plan on sending everyone on my email list a copy of the listing as well for their information and possible use.

There is a lot to picking a good web hosting. Just like every thing else, you need to take a bit of time and research and find the perfect match for your needs and wants for your particular situation. Web hosting really is affordable with all that you get and what they do for you for your money, a real necessity these days.

Time for more regulation

Over the past thirty years, the government has made huge efforts to de-regulate everything that they could possibly de-regulate.  They de-regulated the airline industry, transportation, and the telephone company.  They thought that by doing this it would increase growth and be good for business.

Well, I have not seen any positive results from deregulating anything, and I think it is time for the government to reconsider it’s stance on regulation and deregulation.  The consumers need more protection from the evil people who sell us tainted foods, and need more protection from price-gouging.  Time to start reining in the big corporations that make obscene profits at our expense!

I hope you voted

I hope you voted today!  I did!  I waited until shortly before noon and went in to vote then.  I was thinking that would probably be a good “slow” time, when the lines would be short and I guess correctly!  I didn’t have to wait for more than about five minutes to get to the lady who was asking for names and identification.  The line moved quickly and efficiently, and I was on my way out the door quickly!  I had watched the news earlier in the morning and was quite concerned to see how long the lines were – I’m sure glad my timing was so good!
